How quickly can I get covered?Based on approval, it can be different in each situation.

When does Open Enrollment start and end?For the 2024 year, Open Enrollment will start on November 1st and end on December 15th for coverage starting January 1st.

I just want to enroll, can someone take care of everything for me?Yes, we can take care of the entire process for you.

How quickly can I get health insurance quotes?By requesting a quote and receiving an email confirmation you will be contacted by A licensed Insurance Agent within 24 hours. Our agents will walk you through the entire quote process and explain all your options at NO charge.

How does my income play a factor when getting an insurance plan?Income plays a factor by providing you with a tax credit from the government. If you fall under the federal based poverty guidelines, then you may qualify for government funded assistance. This means the government may help subsidize your health insurance premiums, deductibles & copays.

If I have an existing medical condition, can I still get coverage, does it affect my rate?No, pre existing medical conditions are not a factor that play into health insurance rates and does not effect your ability to obtain coverage. This is with all insurance companies that abide by federal guidelines. However, there are some occasions where medical conditions might make a difference if you decide to get a policy through your business or for Medicare cliental enrolling in the non-guaranteed issue time frame.

If its not open enrollment am I still able to qualify for insurance ?Yes, under the pretense of certain circumstances within 60 days: Qualifying Life Events such as: -Marriage/ Divorce -Childbirth/ pregnancy -Change of family size, household or income -Lost Previous Coverage -Change in residence -Naturalization

Do I pay more going through an insurance broker?No, AMG Insurance Group does not charge a fee. Some insurance brokerages can charge a brokerage fee. AMG insurance group does not charge any additional fees in order to provide the most cost effective rates. We work directly with each carrier & are trained year after year to be up to date on plans and costs.

Is there a difference between insurance companies?Yes, the main differences between insurances companies are the network of doctors & hospitals as well as claim processes. When looking for which insurance company best fits you, AMG Insurance Group asks qualifying questions to match you, your family or business to the best fitting plan & company. There are many companies to choose from, it all depends on what will work best for you.

Will I be able to keep my same doctors?Yes. The benefits of working with AMG is we can make sure your doctor is within the insurance network you move forward with. We have up to date systems that work with all carriers, we input the doctors information and all of the carriers that work with that provider will come up. We then narrow down by plan selection, we also provide the extra step by contacting the providers office to make sure they are in network.

If I am pregnant am I able to receive health insurance?Yes. Under the affordable care act, pregnancy and maternity care are covered as an essential health benefit.

If I’m pregnant does my unborn child automatically receive insurance benefits?Yes, Prenatal services are covered as well as postnatal. Prenatal visits are usually considered preventative. Once the child is born, the child will be added onto the health insurance policy. As a new member of the policy, there may be a rate increase due to a new member on the policy.

Can I join a policy with my brother or sister, we are both over 26?No, you would both have to purchase individual insurance policies. Due to the federal guidelines, individuals over the age of 26 must purchase individual insurance through the marketplace or through their employer. They cannot stay on their family plan.

How long can I stay on my parents health careplan?You are able to stay on your parents health care policy till the age of 26 with some exceptions. In some cases children may still stay with parents due to a disability and other circumstances. After the age of 26, they must move to an individual plan through the marketplace or insurance through their place of employment.

Do I get penalized on my taxes if I do not have insurance ?Federally, there is no penalty. In the state of Michigan currently, there is no penalty. However, in some states there may be a penalty. Please research your local government websites & talk with a licensed CPA in your local area to verify if the state has a penalty.

Can I look up prescription prices before I commit to a policy ?Yes, at the time of quote. When quoting a health insurance plan, your licensed insurance agent is able to look up your prescriptions. Each company offers different types of prescription copays whether that is generic or brand name. Our licensed agent will always take the extra step to perform the due diligence of asking proper qualifying health questions to make sure the plan selected best fits your needs.

Does my insurance policy cover me if I were to travel to a different state?Yes, most plans will offer coverage out of state in the case of an emergency. PPO policies will have more out of state benefits & offer non emergency medical coverage. HMO policies will cover you in the case of emergencies while you're traveling out of state. If traveling out of the country, AMG offers plans to cover out of country required medical insurance. Through companies like Geo Blue we have plan options that can cover short or long term travel. What is the difference between a PPO and HMO?A PPO network is able to give you the freedom to choose what doctors, hospitals and pharmacies you are wanting to work with An HMO is a selected network or providers that limits coverage to contracted hospitals, doctors and pharmacies.

I lost Medicaid, Can I still get coverage?Yes, you can. You are eligible for a special enrollment and we are able to qualify you for a plan that can be very similar set up to your Medicaid. Still great coverage with minimal costs.

Why do I need insurance?When you buy insurance, you transfer the cost of a potential loss to the insurance company in exchange for a fee, known as the premium. Insurance companies invest the funds securely, so it can grow, and pay out when there's a claim.

Can insurance companies or brokerages sell my information ?Due to HIPPA, no insurance provider or brokerage is able to sell your information. AMG uses up to date cyber security processes to make sure all client information is fully protected. The insurance companies also provide encrypted data entry.
